The equipment manufacturing industry is a core component of the manufacturing industry and an important professional category in vocational education.Against the backdrop of Chongqing's proposal to focus on building a"33618"modern manufacturing cluster system,iteratively upgrading the manufacturing industry structure,and making every effort to build a national important advanced manufacturing center,equipment manufacturing majors will usher in a period of high-quality and high-level development.Taking 44 vocational colleges in Chongqing as research objects,starting from the establishment of equipment manufacturing majors in vocational colleges in Chongqing,this study explores the reasons for the narrow coverage,high repetition,clustering of popular majors,and some majors not being established in vocational colleges in Chongqing.Furthermore,the study proposes a path for the development of vocational colleges in Chongqing,explores methods that are in line with local,institutional,and enterprise development,achieves high-quality development of vocational colleges,and supports the development strategy of Chongqing's modern manufacturing cluster system.
