Automobile construction is an important foundational course for the students majoring in vehicle engineering.However,due to the limited class hour and outdated content of current textbooks,the teaching is ineffective.To solve the related issues,this article summarizes the application of Outcome-Based-Education(OBE)approach on automobile construction class reformation.The philosophy of student-centered is established,the teaching plan and assessments have been reconstructed to meet the graduation standards.By combination the OBE teaching philosophy into the courses,the teaching methods have been enriched,the practical forms have been innovated,and the self-learning and problem-solving capacities of students have been emphasized and realized.Furthermore,dozens of papers,patents and competition awards have been obtained by the students by the past 3-5 years.Results indicate the teaching effectiveness,the professional and practice capacities of students have been significantly improved,through the OBE oriented curriculum teaching reform and practice.
