In this paper, through the theoretical analysis of the difference in the thermal expansion properties of steel and aluminum in the steel-aluminum connection structure of the car body, the failure modes that may occur after baking the steel-aluminum connection structural adhesive are obtained. The significance of each parameter in the performance parameters of the structural adhesive and its influence on the production and performance of the vehicle are analyzed, and the two most critical parameters in the selection of steel-aluminum connection structural adhesive are the strength and elongation at break. And the thickness of the adhesive layer is determined by CAE simulation. The material thickness and boundary constraints of the substrate provide a theoretical reference for the selection of steel-aluminum connection structural adhesives.
