Laser texturing technology was employed to create groove-shaped micro-textures of varying dimensions on the surface of chilled alloy cast iron.Friction and wear tests were conducted to investigate the effects of micro-texture spacing and width on the friction coefficient and wear loss.It was found that when the spacing and width of the micro-textures were both 100μm,the average friction coefficient between the specimen and the counter-face ball was 0.1885,and the wear loss of the specimen was 17.1mg,which was significantly reduced compared to the non-textured condition. The study indicates that groove-shaped micro-texture can effectively enhance the wear resistance of the surface of chilled alloy cast iron.
