To enhance the cold start performance of diesel vehicles integrated with Passive Entry Passive Start PEPS systems, enabling seamless entry and ignition with a direction command,a comprehensive study was undertaken on a 2.5-liter light-duty diesel vehicle. The comparison between direct start and a start after a preheating wait was performed at different test locations to validate the cold start performance. The results indicated that the direct start method was ineffective in initiating the vehicle's operation in high-altitude,low-temperature conditions, whereas employing a preheating wait prior to starting ensured successful ignition.Furthermore,in standard environments with moderate temperatures, initiating the vehicle after a preheating wait proved to be more expeditious than the direct start method.
