Automotive Exterior Clay Model Processing based on DMAIC Method and Improved Surface Quality
Clay model is an important part of the R&D stage of automobile styling design,and in the process of positive styling development,the process of CNC machining is required to present the data of the A-plane of the clay model on the surface of the clay model for the visual review of the solid model.The quality of the surface processing of the model will affect the subsequent processes,such as the removal of the toolpath and painting,which in turn will affect the final display effect and even the review results.Using Six Sigma's improved DMAIC method,the target value of the machined surface quality can be scientifically determined,the key influencing factors can be identified,the root cause can be analyzed,and measures to improve the surface quality can be formulated.At present,it has been implemented and verified in several projects,and the results have exceeded expectations.
