摘要

乡村英语教学常被城市教育"俯视"并处于现代外语教育想象的边缘.生源流失、乡村社会英语学习资源匮乏、乡村学校英语课程建设与教学教研的"城市中心"及功利取向,加上乡村教育中英语学科地位的弱势和支持的欠缺,是乡村英语教学面临的三大现实问题.然而,优秀的乡村英语教师依托对乡村教育的深厚情感和坚定的教学实践理性,在专业发展与自主成长的过程中,坚持反思行动,提出了乡村英语教学的理想并创新了教学模式.要整体改善乡村英语教学,需要从战略层面重塑乡村英语教育的合理位序,并从实践层面引领教师发展,保障学生的主体地位.

Abstract

Rural English education is often"looked down upon"by urban educational systems and remains on the periphery of modern foreign language education.The loss of student enrollment,the scarcity of English learning resources in rural communities,the"urban-centric"and utilitarian approach to curriculum development and teaching research in rural schools,along with the weak status and lack of support for the English subject in rural education,constitute the three major challenges faced by rural English education.However,outstanding rural English teachers,driven by a deep commitment to rural education and a steadfast practical rationality in teaching,have persistently engaged in reflective practices,proposed ideals for rural English education,and innovated teaching models during their professional development and self-growth.To comprehensively improve rural English education,it is necessary to strategically reposition its rightful place within the educational hierarchy and to guide teacher development from a practical standpoint,ensuring the central role of students in the learning process.
