Influence of Domestic Value Chain Network on Enterprise Innovation
Technological innovation has become an important strategic basis under the new development pattern of constructing domestic circulation. From the perspective of domestic value chain network, based on city-scale multi-regional input-output tables in 2012,2015 and 2017,the present study adopts a spatial econometric model to explore the influence of domestic value chain network on enterprise innovation and its spatial spillover effect. The findings are as follows:(1)The enhancement of the connectivity strength of regional domestic value chain networks not only improves the innovation capacity of local firms but also promotes the innovation capacity of those in neighboring regions. The statistical significance of these results still exist even after robustness tests involving the replacement of core explanatory variables, spatial weight matrices, and GMM estimation.(2)Heterogeneity analysis shows that under the domestic value chain network, the spatial spillover effect of firm innovation is more pronounced in the eastern regions of China, while in the central and western regions, the direct promotion effect of enhanced connectivity strength in the domestic value chain network on local firm innovation is more evident.(3)The mechanism analysis shows that industrial specialization agglomeration and industrial diversification agglomeration have a positive moderating effect on the process of domestic value chain network affecting firm innovation, but the moderating effect of industrial diversification agglomeration is less than that of industrial specialization agglomeration.
