New Quality Productivity and the Transformation and Upgrading of Cultural Industry
New quality productivity is a strong driving force and support mechanism for the high-quality development of cultural industry. This study measures the levels of new quality productivity alongside the transformation and upgrading of the cultural industry by employing panel data from 30 provinces from 2012 to 2022.Through econometric modeling,we empirically explore whether and how the new quality productivity affects the transformation and upgrading of the cultural industry. The primary findings are presented as follows:firstly, the development of new quality productivity significantly promotes the transformation and upgrading of cultural industries,a conclusion that remains robust across various tests.Secondly, the mechanism analysis indicates that new quality productivity improves the transformation and upgrading level of cultural industry through the promotion of industrial integration.Thirdly,a heterogeneity analysis shows that new quality productivity in the eastern region has a greater impact on the transformation and upgrading of cultural industries. While new laborers and new labor materials significantly contribute to the transformation and upgrading of cultural industries, the role of physical elements—specifically new labor objects—is not significant. This study provides empirical evidence for enabling new quality productivity to support high-quality economic development and offers useful references for how the government can accelerate the transformation and upgrading of the cultural industry.
