We got 53 COI sequences of fish from Huairou area of Beijing. Combined with classification, the data from minimalist DNA barcode and DNA barcode were compared to testify if the minimalist DNA barcode was available for species identification. We divided 53 COI sequences into 3 segments, calculated the accuracy of these segments by carrying out neighbor-joining ( NJ) analysis and analyzing the genetic distance. The results indicated that molecular identification consistent with the morphological identification is probably, and found two errors in classification. The accuracy of the first 200 bp barcode in species identification was consistent with the result of full COI. So it can be concluded that the identification of fish species could be done by minimalist DNA barcode. It will benefit the development and protection of fish.
