New materials of Burmobittacus jarzembowskii(Insecta:Macroptera)from the mid-Cretaceous
The earliest fossil records of Bittacidae can date back to the Triassic, with a higher diversity during the Jurassic, and lower diversity in the Cretaceous. This paper based on four well-preserved new specimens of Bittacidae from the mid-Cretaceous Kachin amber in Northern Myanmar(Hukawng Valley),revised the diagnosis of Burmobittacus Zhao,Bashkuev,Chen & Wang,2017,supplemented the features of head, the basal part of the wing, and genitalia of Burmobittacus jarzembowskii Zhao,Bashkuev,Chen & Wang,2017,indicated a significant difference in the intraspecific length ratio between radial sector(Rs)and R2+3.This paper also compiled a fossil genus-level key for the Bittacidae and compared the wing differences among fossil groups of Bittacidae from Mesozoic.
