Research on Motivating Phase of Production-Oriented Approach in the English Class for TCSOL Majors
Motivating is the first phase of"Production-oriented Approach"(POA),which plays an important role in stimulating learning motivation and promoting output intention.Through classroom observation,interviews etc,researchers have examined the application of the motivating phase in the English class for Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages(TCSOL)majors,analyzed the design of the three-rounds teachings in the motivating phase and the teaching effects as well,and thus put forward some solutions for the problems.The findings are:The output target should cover language ability,professional knowledge and cultural cultivation these three dimensions;The application of the cases should be focused in the motivating phase to stimulate students'learning motivation;The language teacher,subject teacher and the students should cooperate to become the POA teaching-learning community.
