Preliminary Investigation and Prevention of Ruderal Alfalfa Fields in Shandong Province
This study conducted field surveys on ruderals in the primary alfalfa planting areas in Shandong Province,China.The objective was to gain knowledge about the different types of ruderals and their harmful characteristics.The aim was to provide a scientific foundation for effectively managing ruderals in alfalfa fields in Shandong.After conducting a thorough and ongoing investigation for a period of 6 years,a comprehensive analysis of data revealed the presence of 135 distinct species belonging to 33 different families of ruderals in alfalfa fields located in Shandong Province.The survey identified a total of 28 species of Asteraceae ruderals,18 species of Poaceae ruderals,9 species of Brassicaceae ruderals,8 species each of Leguminosae and Chenopodiaceae ruderals,and 7 species each of Amaranthaceae and Convolvulaceae.The ruderal plants found in alfalfa fields display traits such as variety of life styles,intricate reproductive strategies,varied methods of propagation,and high levels of competitiveness.The author has proposed prevention and control measures for the main weeds.
