Analysis and Evaluation of Heavy Metal Pollution and Pesticide Residues in Mulberry Leaves in Qianjiang District
Objective To determine the contamination of 5 heavy metals and 42 pesticide residues in mulberry leaves in Qianjiang District of Chongqing City,so as to provide reference for the development of sericulture industry and the quality and safety control of mulberry leaves products. Methods Total 196 lots of samples were collected from four areas of Qianjiang District.Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(ICP-MS)and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS)were used for the determination of heavy metals and pesticide residues.Nemerow pollution index(NCI)and single factor pollution index(NCI)were used to evaluate the risk of heavy metals and pesticide residues. Results Among 196 batches of mulberry leaf samples,196 batches of heavy metals were detected and the detection rate was 100%.The type of pollution was compound heavy metal pollution, and the highest detection rate was 96.94%for chromium(Cr)followed by lead(Pb),but cadmium(Cd)was not detected.Among them,154 batches of mulberry leaves samples were selected for pesticide residue detection,55 batches of pesticide residue were detected, and the detection rate was 35.71%.Among 42 kinds of pesticide residues,12 species were detected, among which chlorpyrifos and dichlorvos were detected more frequently. There were significant differences between the detection rates of different towns and different months(P<0.01),and the number and detection rate of Jinxi area were the top. Conclusion The use of pesticide is common in some villages and towns, and high heavy metal content and excessive consumption may have certain risks, which should be paid attention by relevant authorities.
