Objective To analyze the patent application trends,main applicants,technology distribution and important patent applications of dihydroquercetin based on the patent data,and provide some advice for the research on dihydroquercetin.Methods By means of Himmpat and China Patent Database,the patent data related to dihydroquercetin were retrieved and screened,and were processed.Results Dihydroquercetin was approved as a new food material in recent years,so the number of patent applications of dihydroquercetin had steadily increased.The application of dihydroquercetin in food industry had grown rapidly,and the development of dihydroquercetin as a pharmaceutical formulation was the main research direction.Conclusion The preparation of dihydroquercetin by synthetic biotechnology has gradually become a hot topic of research.It is important to construct a scientific patent layout by further strengthening the research on the core mechanisms of dihydroquercetin,such as structure and function and synthetic pathways,etc.
