Centaurea Behen Linn belongs to the gegus Centaurea(Compositae).It is a traditional medicine used in Asia,such as China,India,and Iran.This paper summarizes the research progress on chemical composition and pharmacological effects of Centaurea Behen Linn,and predicts its quality markers from the aspects of traditional efficacy and clinical application,phylogenetic relationship and specificity,efficacy and measurability of chemical composition.It would provide a basis for the quality evaluation and research,development and utilization of Centaurea Behen Linn.
