Comparison of the Top Eight Teams at the 2022 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup:Prospect of the Chinese Women's Basketball Team in Paris 2024 Olympic Games
To further enhance the competitiveness of Chinese women's basketball and make better preparation for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games,this paper,using literature review,video analysis,mathematical statistics,and video observation method etc.,reviewed the play-by-play data in the 2022 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup,and made a comprehensive analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of the Chinese women's basketball team.Research suggests that:1)the Chinese women's basketball team's age and height have reached the level of the world's top team,and the combination of inside players has become an advantage.2)The Chinese women's basketball team showed an advantage in inside scoring and defensive rebound,but there is still disadvantages in second-chance points,fast break and offensive rebound.3)Many players in the Chinese women's basketball team ranking the top 10 outstanding athletes in player efficiency rating,scoring,points per game,rebounding,assists and other technical indicators,have reached the world first-class level,and winning the second place in 2022 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup is well deserved.4)The center players need to improve rebounding and free throw percentage;the power forward players need to improve rebounding and scoring;the small forward players need to improve rebounding and assists;the shooting guard players need to make more shots and scoring;the point guard players need to make more shots and scoring.5)The gap between the starting lineup and bench player is big and need to be narrowed,especially the power forward players,the small forward players,and the shooting guard players.In the women's basketball competition in Paris 2024 Olympic Games,it is believed that the Chinese women's basketball team has the opportunity and strength to compete for the gold medal;US women's basketball team remains strongest competitor;Belgium and Canada will be the main rivals for the medal competition;and the women's teams of Australia,Serbia,France,Russia,Spain,Japan and South Korea will remain the potential rivals in the medal competition.
