In order to explore the innate characteristics of sports participation and improve their health among migrant children, mathematical statistics were used to study the baseline and second phase data of the Chinese Family Tracking Survey(2018)and the Chinese Education Tracking Survey. The impact of peer effects on sports participation among migrant children in China was analyzed, and it was found that:1)the weekly sports participation time of migrant children was less than that of local children, and the gap in junior middle school stage increased;2)The peer effect of sports participation among migrant children is inverted U-shaped,with a turning point of 17.286(week duration)for local peers and 9.12(week duration)for mobile peers;3)There is heterogeneity in the influence of peer sports participation on individuals under different mobility states.Shorter flow distance and longer cumulative flow duration can suppress the inverted U-shaped phenomenon of peer effect;4)The reason for the peer effect in sports participation among migrant children can be attributed to the emotional needs of integrating migrant children into the group. It suggests that 1)the government and education departments should realize sports in terms of the social integration for migrant children;2)physical education teachers should consider the critical value of peer effect and adopt more reasonable grouping teaching and evaluation methods;3)parents should pay more attention to their children's sports participation and its promotion in the early stages of migration;4)teachers and school administrators should focus on their emotional needs for group identity and belonging.
