Research on the Mechanism of"Dual Olympics"to Facilitate Coordinated Development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region—From the Perspective of Industrial Upgrading
The 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics is the world's first"Dual Olympics",with"dual"having two meanings:dual cities and dual times.Dual cities refer to Beijing and Zhangjiakou simultaneously hosting the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.Dual times indicate that the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics is held following the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics.The successful hosting of the dual Olympics is not only an important manifestation of the strategy to build a sport power but also a typical case of sports promoting economic development and implementing the national key strategy of coordinated development in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.Specifically,the dual-city Olympics added external opportunities and internal momentum for the coordinated industrial development of Beijing,Tianjin,and Hebei.Hosting the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics created a large demand,providing valuable opportunities for industrial upgrading in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.The infrastructure investments made for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics laid a solid foundation for industrial upgrading in the region.Hosting the Olympics twice,on one hand,can fully utilize the summer Olympics legacy while creating new Olympic heritage,extending the post-Olympic effect,and promoting industrial upgrading in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.On the other hand,it can help advance the strategy of relocating non-capital functions from Beijing,enhance Beijing's industrial spillover effects,optimize the industrial layout of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei,and consequently drive industrial upgrading in the region.
