What Can Be Done to Promote the Transformation of Grassroots Sports Schools:Taking the Sports School Reform in Jingshan as a Case Study
In response to the challenges of diminishing scale and declining quality in youth sports talent at grassroots sports schools in China, this study takes the sports school reform in Jingshan City as a case study. It delves into the essential requirements for cultivating youth sports talent and identifies key elements for the transformation and development of grassroots sports schools. It aims to uncover the genuine obstacles hindering their progress and systematically explore practical strategies and underlying principles for promoting their transformation at the district level. The study also contends that advancing the transformation of grassroots sports schools necessitates integrating various dimensions such as management philosophy, cultivation objectives, resource allocation, and operational mechanisms. This integration is aimed at establishing a new model emphasizing excellence in both sports and culture, creating a fresh system for identifying and nurturing talent reserves, optimizing resource allocation pathways for school operations, and invigorating talent reserve cultivation efforts. The core theoretical framework guiding this study revolves around constructing a regulatory framework for transforming grassroots sports schools with stringent laws while employing flexible governance methods to enhance their environment.Additionally,it emphasizes establishing efficient cultivation mechanisms to ensure smooth talent development processes. These three drivers are envisioned to propel high-quality transformation and development within China's grassroots sports schools.
