Research on Participation Behavior of Ice and Snow Sports(Ice Skating)Based on TPB Theory-Sensation Seekings Effective Extension of the TPB Framework
Objective:To investigate the psychological mechanism of sensory seeking in predicting the participation behavior of ice and snow sports(ice skating)by examining the direct effect of sensory seeking on the participation behavior of ice and snow sports(ice skating)and the indirect effect mediated by TPB framework. Methods:A total of 384 skating enthusiasts(239 male and 145 female)were investigated by using"Short Sensation Seeking Scale","TPB Factor Scale","Skating Participation Behavior Scale"and"State flow Scale",and the theoretical model was verified. Results:The indirect effect that sensation seeking exert on the participation behavior of ice and snow sports(skating)mediated by the overall framework of the TPB model was not significant, but the indirect effe-ct of intention and the direct effect of sensation seeking on the participation behavior of ice and snow sports(skating)was significant. The combination of sense-seeking and TPB framework explained 31.1%of the variance of behavior, and the explanation rate was 6.2%higher than that of TPB framework(24.9%).In addition, the test results of the moderating effect of flow factors showed that flow factors significantly moderated the direct prediction effect of sensation seeking on ice and snow sports participation(skating). Conclusion:Sensation seeking still has a significant predictive effect on ice and snow sports(ice skating)participation behavior outside the TPB framework, and Flow experience can further intensify the direct effect of sensation seeking on ice and snow sports(ice skating)participation behavior outside the TPB framework. This suggests that the activation of flow experience in people with high sensation seeking traits will further increase their participation in ice and snow sports(ice skating).
