摘要
成长小说是当代英国黑人小说家青睐的文学形式,黑人成长小说在传统成长小说的基本结构下呈现出独特的特点.传统成长小说的主人公经历着深重的自我迷失,而黑人主人公因种族歧视深陷严重的身份危机;传统的主人公为摆脱困境而踏上旅程,而黑人主人公所开启的是实际的或隐喻意义的故国回归之旅;传统的主人公在小说结局会收获顿悟和成熟,而黑人主人公将会赢得身份构建的成功.黑人成长小说承袭现实主义文学传统,其施为功能体现在推动英国和英国性的转变.由此,英国黑人成长小说是构建的小说,也是改变的小说.
Abstract
Bildungsroman is a literary form favored by the contemporary black British novelists.While following the basic structure of traditional Bildungsroman,black British Bildungsroman exhibits distinct characteristics.Firstly,the protagonist of traditional Bildungsroman experiences profound self-loss;while the black protagonist is deeply trapped in a profound identity crisis due to racial discrimination.Secondly,the traditional protagonist embarks on a journey to overcome difficulties;while the black protagonist makes a literal or a metaphorical journey of return to their imaginative homeland.Thirdly,the traditional protagonist will gain epiphany and maturity at the end of the novel;while the black protagonist will win the success of identity construction.Finally,the typical Bildungsroman inherits the tradition of realism and criticizes the outdated social norms and customs;while the performative function of the black Bildungsroman is reflected in its transformation of Britain and Englishness.Therefore,the black British Bildungsroman is both a novel of construction and transformation.
