The Cognition and Critical Analysis of Overseas Scholars on the"Second Combination"
The"second combination"refers to the combination of the basic principles of Marxism with China's fine traditional culture,representing another significant ideological liberation with both theoretical and practical implications.Overseas scholars have paid significant attention to this topic.They believe that various practical needs,such as Marxism taking root in China and achieving development,the revitalization of traditional Chi-nese culture,and the improvement of the Communist Party of China's governance,have collectively contribu-ted to the emergence of the"second combination".Scholars have analyzed the internal mechanisms by which the"second combination"can be realized and the practical steps for promoting it.From the four dimensions of national revitalization,party building,civilizational identity,and the development of the Chinese path to mod-ernization,they systematically expound the multiple meanings of the"second combination".These overseas perspectives collectively form a relatively rich research landscape,which helps broaden the domestic academic field of"second combination"research and possesses significant academic value.However,due to the influ-ence of a"Western-centric"research perspective,isolated and one-dimensional research methods,and the lack of research materials,some overseas scholars'research contains biased and distorted perspectives and shortcomings.Therefore,we must maintain strategic focus and reinforce cultural confidence,scientifically re-spond to the various voices of overseas scholars on the"second combination",and strive to build a broad con-sensus at home and abroad to better promote the"second combination".
