The Song Dynasty was an important historical period for the flourishing development of formulas of Chinese medicine and incense culture,and aromatherapy was full of distinctive characteristics of the times.By combing the aromatherapy formulas in the three official formula books of the Song Dynasty,it was found that the drugs used in aromatherapy were diverse,in addition to the commonly used mineral drugs and bone drugs,native and foreign incenses were widely used.The usage was flexible,with ointment,elixir,pill,powder and other dosage forms,which could be worn on the head,hand,neck,chest and other parts of the body,but the upper limbs were mostly worn with pills.The use was wide,mainly for the treatment of infectious diseases,and also for the treatment of internal,external,gynecological,and pediatric diseases,which laid a good foundation for the development of aromatherapy in later ages.
