Visual Analysis of Duzhong(Eucommiae Cortex)in Prevention and Treatment of Osteoporosis Based on CiteSpace
Objective:To explore the development trend, research hotspots, and dynamic frontiers of the field in the past 20 years by using CiteSpace 6.2 to visualize the literature on Duzhong(Eucommiae Cortex)in the prevention and treatment of osteopo-rosis.Methods:The literature on the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis with Duzhong was searched on the China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI)from January 1st,2003 to April 30th,2023,and a knowledge graph was constructed based on the institutions, authors, and keywords. Results:A total of 395 articles were included, and the total number of articles published showed an overall upward trend, with fewer articles published from 2003 to 2013,and an increasing trend from 2014,with the highest number of articles published in 2021,at 28.The main publishing institutions were Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine,Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine,Henan University of Chinese Medicine,Zhejiang Chinese Medical University,Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, and Wuhan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The authors with the highest number of publications were ZHANG Xian,ZHANG Yanhong,TAN Xiangling,CAI Jianping,XIE Huansong, and XIA Shulin.Combined with keyword co-occurrence analysis, emergence analysis and cluster analysis, the results showed that the main research hotspots were Duzhong, osteoporosis, bone mineral density, osteoblasts,Duzhongye(Eucommiae Folium),bone metabolism and Yinyanghuo(Epimedii Folium). Conclusions:Research on Duzhong in the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis has gradually shifted from simple clinical trials to more in-depth mechanistic studies. In order to provide high-level evidence-based medicine for the clinical safety and effectiveness of Duzhong in the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis, more standardized clinical studies need to be conducted.Meanwhile,it is still necessary to further clarify the mechanisms of Duzhong in the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis and the relationship between Duzhong and the related clinical syndromes of osteoporosis in traditional Chinese medicine to guide clinical medication.
