Classic of Difficult Issues points out that"those who hurt their hearts,adjust their nutrient-defense".There is a mutual and interdependent relationship between heart and nutrient-defense,and the dysfunction of nutrient-defense can prevent the heart from performing its normal physiological functions.The fundamental pathogenesis of variant angina pectoris is the imbalance of nutrient and defense,with disordered defense qi or deficient defense qi as the primary cause of onset,and stasis of nutrient blood or deficiency of nutrient blood as the basis of the disease.Therefore,the disharmony of nutrient and defense leads to the onset of variant angina pectoris.The treatment of variant angina pectoris based on nutrient-defense theory should focus on harmonizing nutrient and defense,reinforcing the foundation by regulating nutrient,with emphasis on the application of wind medicines,so as to achieve the purpose of improving the curative efficacy and prognosis.
