Exploring Medication Regularity Based on Syndrome Differentiation in Treatment of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis by Data Mining Methods of Latent Structure Model and Frequent Item Sets
Objective:To explore medication regularity based syndrome differentiation in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis(IPF)and provide reference for clinical treat-ment of IPF.Methods:A literature search was con-ducted in databases such as CNKI,Wanfang,PubMed,Embase,etc.,for relevant articles on treating IPF with TCM medicinals decoctions up to August 8,2021.Information on syndromes,symptoms,and Chinese medicinals prescriptions was extracted to build an IPF medical case database.Data mining methods such as latent structure model and frequent item sets were used to analyze the medication regularity in internal treatment of IPF with Chinese medicinals decoctions.Results:A total of 39 articles were included,comprising 1497 cases.The included articles contained 163 symptoms,such as cough,fatigue,and dyspnea.A latent structure model of IPF was constructed using 53 symptoms with a frequency of≥3 as significant variables,and the model suggested the syndrome of qi deficiency and blood stasis was a commonly seen syndrome in IPF.The prescriptions in the included articles involved 163 Chinese medicinals in which Huangqi(Astragali Radix),Gancao(Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma),Danshen(Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix et Rhizoma),Danggui(Angelicae Sinensis Radix),Dangshen(Codonopsis Radix),etc.were with high frequency.Five"symptom-Chinese medicinal"frequent item sets were identified,such as"chest pain,fatigue+ecchymosis on tongue+deep and thready pulse+Danshen+Taoren(Persicae Semen)+Dangshen".Four"syndrome-symptom-Chinese medicinal"frequent item sets were identified,such as"qi deficiency and blood stasis+chest tightness,fatigue+ecchymosis on tongue+Huangqi+Danshen+Danggui".Conclusions:The syndrome of qi deficiency and blood stasis is a commonly seen syndrome in IPF.In treatment of IPF with Chinese medicinals decoctions,Huangqi,Gancao,Danshen were used as main medicinals,and the medicinals compatibility are chosen according to clinical syndrome differentiation.
