Professor ZHAO Yang believes that the"wind arising from the interaction of yin and yang"refers to the pathological state of wind arising from the imbalance of yin and yang.Because the wind is based on yang qi,when yin and yang are imbalanced,the changes in yang qi can lead to the generation of internal wind.The key pathogenesis of Parkinson's disease is"wind arising from the interaction of yin and yang",where wind can act as both a pathogenic factor that disturbs the orifices and a pathological product that affects the function of the orifices.Depending on the fluctuations of yang qi,different stages of Parkinson's disease may present with wind generated from hy-peractivity and counterflow of yang qi,depression and stagnation of yang qi,or deficiency and debilita-tion of yang qi.Clinical treatment should aim to harmonize the balance of yin and yang,with meth-ods of nourishing yin to subdue yang and stop wind,dispersing yang to alleviate stagnation and calm wind,and warming yang to nourish blood and disperse wind.A proved medical case is attached.
