Essential hypertension(EH),as a heterogeneous disease,is generally considered to be the result of a variety of environmental factors on the basis of a certain genetic susceptibility,which is highly similar to the holistic view of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM).According to the holistic view of TCM,the pathogenesis of EH and the internal mechanism of its pathophysiological evolution was explained,so as to provide a new perspective for the prevention and treatment of EH with integrated Chinese and western medicine,and to put forward effective prevention and treatment strategies based on the holistic view,which is of great significance for the construction of the chronic disease prevention and treatment system of EH with equal emphasis on Chinese and western medicine.
