Objective:To observe the effect of periocular acupoint tuina combined with auricular acupoint pressing in the intervention of mild myopia in children.Method:A total of 60 children with mild myopia from Grade 3 and Grade 4 of primary school were divided into an observation group and a control group by the random number table method,with 30 cases in each group.The observation group was intervened with periocular acupoint tuina combined with auricular acupoint pressing("Glitter Eye Exercise"),along with the auricular acupoint application,while the control group was intervened with non-contact eye exercises.Both groups were intervened twice a day,5 days a week(Monday to Friday),for a total of 12 weeks.The visual acuity,refractive error,and axial length of the two groups were compared before and after intervention.The differences in refractive error and axial length before and after intervention were calculated,following an evaluation of the curative efficacy of both groups.Results:After intervention,there were no significant changes in naked eye acuity,refractive error,and axial length of the children in the observation group compared to before intervention(P＞0.05).The naked eye acuity of the children in the control group was decreased compared to before intervention(P＜0.05),while the refractive error and axial length were increased compared to before intervention(P＜0.05).The naked eye acuity of the children in the observation group was better than that in the control group(P＜0.01).The differences in refractive error and axial length before and after intervention in the observation group were smaller than those in the control group(P＜0.05).After intervention,the curative efficacy in the observation group was better than that in the control group(P＜0.01).Conclusions:For children with mild myopia,the combination of periocular acupoint tuina and auricular acupoint pressing can not effectively improve the naked eye acuity,reduce refractive error,and decrease axial length.However,it can prevent the decline in naked eye acuity and delay the increase in refractive error and axial length.
