Progress of Research on Yang Meridian Acupoints Selection in Treatment of Ischemic Stroke Based on"All Yang Meridians Ascend to the Head"
"All yang meridians ascend to the head"emphasizes that the yang meridians ascend to the head and are connected with the brain.Ischemic stroke is an acute fatal disease caused by brain tissue injury.Based on the theory of"meridian-viscera correlation",clinical treatment for ischemic stroke often involves selecting acupuncture acupoints along the yang meridians.Based on the theory of"meridian-viscera correlation",this paper explores"all yang meridians ascend to the head"and reviews the research progress of modern biological mechanism of treating ischemic stroke with yang meridian acupoints selection from five aspects of brainneural networks,cerebrovascular function,brain metabolism,central immune function,and cell death,based on the modern research on the existing yang meridian acupoints,with a prospect of providing modern theoretical support for the scien-tific characteristics of yang meridians and collaterals,promoting the transformation of modern biological mechanism research,and improving the clinical effect of acupuncture and moxibustion.
