Syndrome Differentiation and Treatment of Thyroid Nodules Based on Shaoyang Pivot Theory
Thyroid nodule is one of the frequently occurring and common diseases of the endocrine system.At present,traditional Chinese medicine has highlighted its clinical efficacy in treating thyroid nodules.This article refers to the idea of the treatment of Shaoyang syndrome in Treatise on Cold Pathogenic Diseases by ZHANG Zhongjing,the medical sage,incorporates the pathological characteristics of impaired Shaoyang pivot function and delves into the etiology and pathogenesis of thyroid nodules,encompassing aspects such as liver and gallbladder fire flaring upwards,liver qi stagnation,obstruction of the Sanjiao in fluid distribution,internal disturbance of gallbladder fire affecting the mind,and yang qi being blocked and unable to reach its desti-nation.Based on the theory of Shaoyang pivot function,the article proposes the holistic treatment principle of"reconciling Shaoyang".The specific therapeutic strategies include dredging excessive liver-gallbladder fire,soothing the liver and promoting qi flow to relieve stagnation,warming yang and transforming qi to facilitate water metabolism,clearing gallbladder fire to calm the mind,and pivoting yang qi to extend outward.The goal is to restore the orderly functioning of the Shaoyang pivot,thereby achieving the purpose of eliminating pathogenic factors and restoring health.
