Clinical Study on Xingqi Runchang Decoction(行气润肠汤)in Treatment of Functional Constipation with Deficiency of Qi and Yin
Objective:To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of Xingqi Runchang Decoction(行气润肠汤)in the treatment of functional constipation with deficiency of qi and yin.Methods:A total of 90 patients with functional constipation with deficiency of qi and yin were divided into the observation groupand the control group by using random number table method,each group 45.The observation group was treated with Xingqi Runchang Decoction,and the control group was treated with Shouhui Tongbian Capsule(首荟通便胶囊),the course of treatment was 4 weeks.The weekly number of complete spontaneous defecation(CSBMs),score of major symptoms of constipation,score of quality of life scale(PAC-QOL),score of qi and yin deficiency syndrome,anorectal pressure,clinical efficacy as well as the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups before and after treatment.Results:The total effective rate of the observation group was 95.23% ,the control group was 80.00% ,the difference was statistically significant between the two groups(P＜0.05).Compared with those before treatment,CSBMs in both groups increased(P＜0.05),and the CSBMs in the observation group was more than those in the control group(P＜0.05).The scores of major clinical symptoms,quality of life scale,qi-yin deficiency syndrome,canal initial sensation thresholds,defecation sensation thresholds,and maximal tolerance thresholds in both groups were significantly decreased compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05),and the decrease was more significant in the obser-vation group(P＜0.05).Anal canal resting pressure and anal canal systolic pressure were significantly increased in both groups(P＜0.05),and the increase was more significant in the observation group(P＜0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the occurrence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P＞0.05).Conclusions:Xingqi Runchang Decoction has satisfactory clinical effect in the treatment of functional constipation with deficiency of qi and yin,it can promote the spontaneous recovery of intestinal peristalsis function with a low incidence of adverse reactions.
