Clinical Study of Acupoint Application in Treatment of Essential Hypertension(Grade 1)
Objective:To study the clinical efficacy and safety of acupoint application of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)in the treatment of essential hypertension(Grade 1),and to provide objective and effective evidence-based evidence for the clinical treatment of hypertension. Methods:A total of 174 patients with EH(Grade 1)admitted to 6 hospitals in Shandong Province were selected as subjects in a randomized,double-blind,placebo-controlled,multicentre clinical study. The observation group was treated with Chinese medicine acupoint application,Baijiezi(Sinapis Semen)and Gouteng(Uncaria Ramulus Cum Uncis)were applied to Dazhui(DU14)point,Wuzhuyu(Euodiae Fructus)and Chuanxiong(Chuanxiong Rhizoma)were applied to Shenque(RN8)acupoint,Wuzhuyu and Bingpian(Borneolum Syntheticum)were applied to Yongquan(KI1)acupoint for 4 weeks.and the control group was treated with placebo acupoint application. The blood pressure in the consulting room,TCM syndrome scores,Duchennes hypertension quality of life scale scores,renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system(RAAS),as well as blood and urine catecholamines were compared between the two groups. Results:After 4 weeks of treatment, both systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure decreased in the two groups, the observation group were lower than the control group(P<0.01).The observation group showed a higher decrease in blood pressure compared to the control group. The overall effective rate of antihypertensive therapy in the experimental group was 85.1% ,which was higher than that of the control group(60.9% ),the antihypertensive effect of the observation group was better than of the pre-treatment group and the control group(P<0.01).TCM syndrome scores and Duchenne hypertension quality of life scale scores of the observation group were better than those of the control group(P<0.05).The levels of angiotensin Ⅱ,aldosterone and serum norepinephrine in the observation group were significantly lower than the pre-treatment group and the control group(P<0.05).No obvious adverse reactions were observed in both groups. Conclusions:The traditional Chinese medicine acupoint application therapy used in this study can significantly reduce the systolic and diastolic blood pressure of patients with EH(grade 1)with syndrome of yin deficiency and yang hyperactivity,it can improve the TCM syndrome and quality of life, and has good safety.
