Professor SUN Lanjun believes that heart failure often develops from other heart diseases and is closely related to the five zang viscera and qi and blood.By analyzing the pathogenic mechanism of the theory of qi and blood on heart failure,it can be summarized into two types:qi deficiency,blood stasis and water retention and qi stagnation and blood stasis.The treatment of qi deficiency,blood stasis and water retention focuses on benefiting qi,promoting blood and alleviating water retention.Clinically,Codonopsis,Radix Astragalus and Radix pseudostellariae are often used to support healthy qi,and dried ginger and wax gourd peel are added to warm yang or alleviate water retention;The treatment of qi stagnation and blood stasis focuses on soothing liver,regulating qi and promoting blood circulation.Salvia miltiorrhiza and safflower are often used to promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis,and bupleurum and ligusticum Chuanxiong are added to soothe the liver,or angelica sinensis and paeony are added to soften the liver.
