Isolation,Identification and Characterization of Porcine Extraintestinal Pathogenic Escherichia Coli SGPLB02 Strain
In order to study the characteristics of enteropathogenic Escherichia coli strain SGPLB02 isolated from pigs in a slaughterhouse, experiments were conducted, including bacterial isolation and cultivation, morphological and biochemical identification, drug sensitivity test,PCR detection of virulence gene, and mouse pathogenicity test. Results showed that the biochemical characteristics of the strain were consistent with those of Escherichia coli, such as acid production, gas production, and the decomposition of various sugars. Results of drug sensitivity test showed that the strain was sensitive to 10 drugs, such as ceftazidime, cefoperazone, and ceftriaxone sodium, resistant to 22 drugs, such as cefotaxime, penicillin, and ampicillin, and moderately sensitive to 4 drugs, such as cefazolin, carbapenem, allopurinol, and rofloxacin. The strain was also found to carry 6 virulence genes, including STb,fyuA,andfimC.Results of the mouse pathogenicity test showed that high-dose infected mice all died, while low-dose infected mice all survived. The research provides data references for the strain to be considered as a vaccine candidate.
