The Rise and Fall of Small Third Line Construction in Guangdong——Nanjiang Machinery Factory as the Center
Nanjiang Machinery Factory is the first small third-line military factory established in Hainan.It had two rounds of construction climax in the 1960s and 1970s.After the reform and opening up,as the national strategy was transferred from the planned economy to the market economy,the status of small third-line construction fell sharply.In April 1988,Hainan set a provincial and special economic zone,Guangdong transferred the small three-line enterprise in Qiong to Hainan management,Nanjiang Machinery Factory was fading with each passing day.The factory hoped to redeem itself by developing new products,moving out of the mountain,opening branch factories,joint operation and so on.However,due to the island restrictions,ineffective leadership,brain drain,lack of funds,internal contradictions and other reasons,the factory was eliminated finally.As the epitome of Hainan,Guangdong and even the whole country's small third-line construction,the rise and fall of Nanjiang Machinery Factory reflects the obvious characteristics of the times.
