Network Analysis of Gender Differences in Basic Psychological Needs and Meaning in Life Among Vocational College Freshmen
This study conducted a network analysis on 635 vocational college freshmen to investigate the gender-specific network structure characteristics of basic psychological needs and meaning in life.The results revealed that the nodes with the highest centrality and expected influence were CMLQ5 for males and CMLQ4 for females.Furthermore,node CMLQ9 showed a strong association with the needs for competence and autonomy across gender-specific networks.These findings underscore the importance of considering gender differences in interventions aimed at enhancing the sense of life meaning,emphasizing the significant impact of nodes CMLQ4,CMLQ5,and CMLQ9 on the network structure.
