The Relationship of Parental Phubbing Behavior and the Quality of Parent-child Interaction:Mediating Effect of Rough Parenting and Moderating Effect of Children's Age
In the context of the digital age,mobile communication devices such as mobile phones have entered the family parent-child interaction,resulting in parental phubbing.The current study used questionnaire method to investigate 684 parents of 3-6 year old children,and the relationship between parental phubbing and parent-child interaction quality was explored through the parental phubbing scale,parent-child interaction quality scale and rough parenting scale.The results showed that:Parental phubbing was negatively correlated with parent-child interaction quality,and positively correlated with rough parenting;Rough parenting plays a mediating role between parent-child interaction quality and parental phubbing;Children's age has a regulating effect on the relationship between parental phubbing behavior and parent-child interaction quality.Based on this,it is recommended that parents reduce their phubbing behavior and avoid young children being exposed to the internet at a younger age.The study advocates for parents to participate in parenting together and improve the quality of parent-child interaction,and calls for strengthening parental emotional counseling and expanding parental social networks.
