Study on Artificial Measures to Promote Natural Regeneration in Secondary Forest of Quercus Liaotungensis
In the Taiyue Mountain area of Shanxi Province,10 representative secondary forests of Quercus liaotungensis were selected to study the effects of different artificial measures to promote natural regeneration on the regeneration of Quer-cus liaotungensis seedlings. The results showed that the seedling emergence and preservation of Quercus liaotungensis seed-lings were significantly higher in the sample plots which clearing all litter, cutting surface herbs and adopting horizontal lev-eling treatment, followed by clearing all litter and adopting horizontal leveling treatment. After adopting artificial measures to promote natural regeneration, there was no significant difference in the emergence and preservation of Quercus liaotungen-sis seedlings under different forest densities and altitude conditions. In summary, appropriate artificial measures to promote natural regeneration had a significant promoting effect on seedling regeneration in the secondary forest of Quercus liaotungen-sis,which could provide favorable conditions for sustainable growth and positive succession of Quercus liaotungensis second-ary forest.
