Selection of Single Parent Families of Pinus Tabulaeformis
A research on family selection was conducted by measuring the growth indicators such as tree height and breast height diameter with 34 single parent families of Pinus tabulaeformis in Shangzhuang Pinus tabulaeformis Seed Orchard of National Forest Administration Bureau of Lvliang Mountain in Shanxi Province as object. The results showed that there were significant differences in tree height and diameter at breast height(DBH)among 34 single parent families of Pinus tabulae-formis.The average tree height and DBH were 156.00 cm and 4.41 cm,the phenotypic variation coefficients were 19.65%and 20.33%.The genetic variation coefficients were 23.44%and 24.36%,the heritabilities were 0.614 1 and 0.321 4.That could provide a basis for the selection of excellent families. The average genetic gains of tree height and DBH in 10 ex-cellent Pinus tabulaeformis families(Zhong 11,Zhong 21,Guan 6,Zhong 12,Zhong 16,Guan 4,Zhong 26,Guan 5,Guan 7 and Zhong 32)which tree height and DBH were significantly higher than CK were 10.01%and 8.38%,which could be utilized as excellent families.Among them, the growth traits and genetic gains of the Guan 4 families were the highest, which could be used as promotional materials for future key tracking.
