Physiological Responses of Native Grass Species to Low Temperature Stress in Northern Shanxi
7 dominant grass species from Dianding Grassland in Guangling County of Datong City in Shanxi Province were selected to determine their stress resistance physiological indicators under low temperature stress conditions. The results showed that under low temperature stress conditions, the SOD activity,POD activity and CAT activity of Poa sphondylodes,Leymus chinensis and Leymus secalinus were higher. The soluble protein content of Leymus secalinus,Leymus chinensis,Poa annua and Poa sphondylodes was higher. The chlorophyll content of Leymus chinensis,Leymus secalinus and Poa annua was higher. The MDA content of Chrysanthemum chanetii,Carex,Leymus secalinus and Leymus chinensis was lower.By compa-ring the 7 resistance indicators of various grass species,it was found that Leymus chinensis,Leymus secalinus and Poa sphondylodes had strong resistance to low temperature stress and could be used as key local grass species for breeding in northern Shanxi.
