Comparison of Extraction Methods and Antioxidant Activities of Total Flavonoids from the Episperm of Paeonia Suffruticosa
The extraction efficiency of total flavonoids from episperm of Paeonia suffruticosa was comprehensively compared using 4 extraction methods such as ultrasound assisted extraction,microwave-assisted extraction,enzymatic extraction and flash extraction with the total flavonoid yield and antioxidant capacity as indicators.The results showed that the enzymatic extraction method had the highest total flavonoid yield which reaching 71.26 mg/g.The total flavonoids extracted from epi-sperm of Paeonia suffruticosa by enzymatic extraction method had the highest ability to scavenge DPPH free radicals,·OH and O2-·which clearance rates were 78.68％,52.36％and 31.82％.Based on comprehensive analysis,the total fla-vonoid yield and antioxidant activity of the 4 extraction methods were ranked in the order of enzymatic extraction＞micro-wave-assisted extraction＞flash extraction＞ultrasound assisted extraction.It could be concluded that enzymatic extraction was the optimal method for extracting total flavonoids from episperm of Paeonia suffruticosa.
