Breeding for high density-tolerant maize has been widely recognized and applied. But breeding teams had their own methods. This article combined practice widi breeding closely and pointed out in depth that the specific breeding procedure for high density-tolerant maize and the key index that the breeding teams should pay attention to. In view of germplasm resources diversity and density selection in the transition stage of maize, the author put forward high-density maize breeding directions.
