A Preliminary Study on the Cultivation of Pleurotus geesteranus in Medium Containing Organic Selenium
A preliminary study on the effect of different concentrations of Se-Met on mycelial growth, fruiting and fruit bodies' selenium content of Pleurotus geesteranus was conducted. The results showed that the low concentration of Se-Met (0.05 g/kg) in medium had a significant promoting influence on the mycelial growth of this fungus, while high concentrations of Se-Met (0.7 ~ 1.0 g/kg)had certain inhibitory effect. When the Se-Met concentration in medium was 0 ~ 0.8 g/kg,P.geesteranus could form normal fruit bodies.Lower concentrations of Se-Met (0 ~ 0.4 g/kg) had no significant effect on fruit bodies yield of P.geesteranus, but higher concentrations of Se-Met (0.6 ~ 0.8 g/kg) resulted in the yield decrease of mushroom. This indicated that higher concentrations of Se-Met had negative effect on fruit bodies' growth ofP.geesteranus.By determining selenium content ofP.geesteranus fruit bodies,we found that the selenium content in P.geesteranus fruit bodies had significant positive correlation with the Se-Met concentration in medium, and the selenium content of fruit bodies harvested in the medium containing 0.8 g/kg Se-Met reached the highest value 11.43 μg/g.
