Identification of Traits Associated with Lodging Resistance in Maize
Corn lodging had become one of the key factors limits the grain yield of maize.In this study,plant characteristics and other 4 aspects including stalk strength,root system characteristics,principal composition of stalk and grain quality were analyzed to illustrate the influences on lodging resistance in maize.The results showed that the tensile and bending strength of stem had closely positive correlation with lodging resistance,which could be used to evaluate the lodging resistance.The principal composition of stalk and grain quality was not closely related to the lodging resistance in maize varieties,development and number of brace root and adventitious root had effects to lodging resistance.
