Accomplishing philanthropy's historical mission in the new era demands a resolute and comprehensive drive toward its modernization.In the age of intelligence,the full harnessing of digital technology is not only imperative for the modernization of charity but also a pivotal means to achieve it.Digital technology has the potential to propel a more efficient,accurate,and proactive allocation of philanthropic resources.It facilitates convenient,in-depth,and sustainable connections between philanthropic organizations and society,fostering a more civilized,inclusive,and open philanthropic environment.However,practical implementation reveals structural misalignments in the application of digital technology,evident in the low application level,an increasingly closed charitable environment,and a declining activity level of organized philanthropy alongside the diminishing presence of philanthropic organizations.To avert directional deviation,an urgent correction is required to address the structural misalignment at its roots.The misalignment stems from organizational limitations,institutional gaps,and an inadequate understanding of the holistic modernization of philanthropy and digital technology.Accordingly,the correction involves upgrading understanding and managing the relationship between multiple aspects:balancing the interplay between philanthropy and related systems,providing foundational support for philanthropic growth;harmonizing the synergy between technology and culture,complementing big data with offline survey data,and integrating algorithmic intelligence with philanthropic wisdom;enhancing the autonomy of philanthropic organizations in digital technology application and infusing internet platforms with a more"philanthropic"essence;appropriately handling the relationship between organizations and systems,clarifying the roles of various organizations in the modern philanthropy system,and improving the supervision and evaluation system.
