Strategic Considerations for Social Security in the Context of Active Ageing
Population ageing is an inevitable stage in the development of human society,representing both the progress and achievements of civilisation.This article,focusing on the trends of population ageing,aims to explore the multi-layered,sustainable,and high-quality development of China's social security system.It examines the challenges from three perspectives:top-level design,fund sustainability,and administrative management.Key issues directly related to the elderly,such as delayed retirement,long-term care insurance,and the silver economy,are thoroughly discussed to identify practical challenges and pain points.The article argues for the comprehensive implementation of the national strategy to actively respond to population ageing.It stresses the importance of clarifying the realities,development,and practical logic of social security,and adopting a proactive approach to the ageing population.By promoting the concept of"Productive Ageing-Active Engagement for Better Support,"meeting the expectations for elderly care,and developing the silver economy,China can leverage its unique advantages to address the mismatch between the current social security system and the demands of an ageing society,ultimately driving continuous improvement in the social security system.
