Categorised Bridging Embedding:How Philanthropic Organizations Integrate into Grassroots Governance
Charitable organizations, particularly community foundations, have achieved remarkable results in promoting common prosperity and innovating grassroots social governance.Based on an in-depth investigation and the"external government guidance-internal organizational operation"dimension, community foundations are classified into four types:substantive guidance-operation-oriented,substantive guidance-funding-oriented,symbolic guidance-operation-oriented,and symbolic guidance-funding-oriented.This study applies the maximum similarity method to summarise the embedding models of these four types of community foundations within community governance. It identifies five bridging embedding mechanisms—environmental,relational,cultural,project-based,and capacity-building.These mechanisms illustrate the"categorised bridging embedding"models and egocentric network patterns of different types of community foundations, helping to overcome the challenges of disconnection and integration. This approach aims to bridge the"last mile"from general to successful embedding, providing a scientific basis for enhancing the deep involvement and active role of charitable organizations in the modernisation of grassroots governance capacities.
