Experience from Business Improvement District in New York and Inspiration for Shanghai
Currently,the urbanization rate of permanent residents in China has exceeded 65%,and urban development has entered the stock era from an incremental era.The urban renewal is also transforming from the drastic renewal of large demolition and construction to the small-scale and gradual renewal in Shanghai,aiming to carry out small-scale transformation in the way of"point cut in",and then trigger the changes in the surrounding environment,ultimately to stimulate the renewal of the city.Throughout the world,New York has made many beneficial attempts in urban renewal,greatly changing the city's image through the establishment of Business Improvement District.In this regard,this article summarizes the renewal experience from five dimensions:organizational form,funding sources,service supply,space creation,and policy measures,so as to provide reference and inspiration for the renewal of urban business districts in Shanghai.
